People asked for us to go hotter, so we threw in even more jalapenos (and serranos, when necessary) to ensure we give a proper nod to our culinary roots, Austin, Texas.
Based on our original recipe, this salsa is for heatophiles who appreciate bold pepper heat balanced with bright salsa ingredients while ensuring there’s still flavor to savor, not just heat for heat’s sake.
Oven-roasted tomatoes, red onion, garlic, and cumin combined with flame-roasted peppers for a bold & smoky charred flavor. Finished with fresh cilantro, lime juice, salt, pepper, and red wine vinegar & blend into a balanced, flavorful salsa.
We pack in 4x the jalapenos than our original recipe & then adjust for even more heat with Serrano peppers, depending on how hot the jalapeños come in that week (a side effect of using fresh ingredients). A rare bit of chef-flare in the CPG game.
Not runny like hot sauce, not chunky like some other salsas, but instead perfectly minced for dipping or dressing on other dishes.
